What hairdressing and nail technology courses do you offer?

We offer comprehensive training programs covering both hairdressing and nail technology: Certificate in Hairdressing Level 3 (40 weeks) covering cutting, colouring, styling, and chemical services; Certificate in Nail Technology Level 3 (25 weeks) including manicures, pedicures, nail art, and extension techniques; and Diploma in Beauty Therapy Level 5 (52 weeks) combining advanced hair and nail services with skincare and salon management. All qualifications are NZQA-approved and industry-recognised.

What delivery options are available for Hairdressing & Nail Tech courses?

Courses are available through on-campus, blended learning, and apprenticeship pathways. On-campus training includes hands-on practice in our fully equipped salon facilities with professional-grade equipment and products. Blended options combine online theory with practical workshops, while apprenticeships let you earn while you learn in real salon environments under qualified supervision.

Who can enrol in hairdressing and nail tech courses?

Entry requirements vary by level. Level 3 certificates are open to New Zealand residents aged 16+ (18+ for international students) with no prior experience required. Level 5 diploma suits those seeking advanced skills or salon ownership. All courses welcome creative individuals with passion for beauty, fashion, and helping clients feel confident.

What practical experience will I get?

All courses include extensive hands-on training in our purpose-built salons featuring professional equipment, colour labs, and nail stations. You'll complete real client services under supervision, learn the latest techniques and trends, practice consultation skills, and gain experience with industry-standard products and tools used in top salons nationwide.

What jobs can I apply for after completing beauty training?

Graduates work as hairdressers, colourists, salon stylists, nail technicians, beauty therapists, and salon managers in hair salons, nail bars, spas, cruise ships, film/TV, and fashion industries. Many graduates establish their own successful businesses. The beauty industry offers diverse career paths with opportunities for specialisation and entrepreneurship.

How much can I earn in the beauty industry?

Qualified professionals enjoy good earning potential that grows with experience and specialisation. Entry-level positions start from $22-25/hour, experienced stylists and nail techs earn $30-45/hour, while specialist services and salon ownership can generate significantly higher incomes. Many professionals supplement income through freelance work for weddings and special events.

Yes, we supply all necessary tools, equipment, and professional products during your training. Students learn with the same high-quality brands used in leading salons, ensuring you graduate familiar with industry-standard equipment and ready to work confidently in any professional environment.

Absolutely. We provide career guidance including portfolio development, interview skills, and industry networking opportunities.
